My studio on the fourth floor is coming along nicely so I'd thought I'd share some progress photos. Last week the super duper carpenters finished my printing table, and this week my large stainless steel utility sink arrived.
We removed the kitchenette from the 90s that had a small sink, refrigerator and cabinets to make way for my new 36" rinse sink. The sink and the hand held sprayer are not installed yet, but I think it looks fantastic next to the cedar wood shelves Elbert {the creative carpenter} built today. He used wood we found in the basement left over from the roof deck. I love the grey patina of the cedar against the bright white walls. These shelves give me a secure spot to store my inks. We plan to use the same cedar boards for a counter top next to the sink - giving me even more surface area for my tools and supplies after rinsing. This is all good news!
The only bad news? The 25 year old A/C completely shut down yesterday. It's nearly as expensive to fix as it is to replace. So I'll be without A/C in the studio for at least two weeks. Such a bummer!
I hope you have wonderfully relaxing and productive weekend!

Looks great...and what a bummer-the A/C could have picked a better time to quit, ah!
ReplyDeleteThat sink is gorgeous!!! and those shelves : ) I know it's been pretty hot there on the east coast. Keep lots of fans going : (
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic - I love the mix of the wood used for the shelves and the metal sink along with the white walls. It's really coming along. At least the humidity has been down some since you lost your A/C - that is a real bummer. I think the temps are supposed to go down more early this week - 70s which is great. Hope you're having a nice weekend.
